Our Collection of Good Guided Meditations

The internet is an endless treasure trove of guided meditations – but nothing kills your chill like listening to a track that doesn’t vibe. Here’s our list of tried-and-tested contemplations that are well worth the listen

the tree meditation that helped me start meditating

This little track is great for people who love immersive music, nature and meditations that last less than 10 minutes.

I could never get into meditation – my mind was too active, and stillness was very confronting. This track starts out weird because the voice sounds very robot-like, but once you get past that, it’s written beautifully, and you get to become a tree! What really makes it cool is the epic orchestral music that ebbs and swells, giving you a real sonic experience.

This helped me discover that meditation is not necessarily about being empty, it can also be just focusing on one (relaxing) thing to the exclusion of all the other stressful thoughts bouncing around inside my head.

a meditation for when your brain is messy

meditation for brain fog

This meditation for clarity is led by Marisa Peer, who created the Rapid Transformation Therapy school of hypnotherapy, a modality that is hugely effective in overcoming past traumas and limiting beliefs. Peer has a channel on Spotify called Meditate with Marisa, featuring a number of meditations, ranging from sleep to better orgasms to positive body image.

The tone of voice is authoritative and intelligent, so these feel more like exercises you’d do with a therapist, rather than relaxing meditations to regulate your nervous system. But that is what makes these quite powerful – there are prompts and ideas to reframe stuckness, and her clarity meditation is one that I find myself turning to what I need to reboot my brain.

a meditation for that fUcking full moon

full moon meditation

Full moons do make people crazy. My Whatsapp usually blows up with people asking how I slept – not because they actually give a damn, more because they want to validate that the full moon makes everyone sleep badly, because they slept badly. Misery loves company!

I personally don’t take full moon rituals too seriously. If I remember, I’ll palo santo my home. But I do that every other day anyway, because I do a lot of energy work and ghosties love to come and hang. And so this full moon meditation is absolutely perfect, because it’s got a nice visualization for releasing (emotions, toxic peoples, whatever you need to let go of), and it’s also got shit tons of swearing. Which is not what you expect in a meditation, but it really does work nicely, and the channel is called “It’s Just F*ckin’ Meditation with Yogi Bryan” so the branding is pretty clear. What he does so well is that he uses this concept without relying on it as a gimmick, so it’s a legitimately good session.

Who said meditation had to be serious, anyway? I also swear sometimes in my breathwork sessions :)

a meditation to bliss out

If you’re not already familiar with East Forest, he’s basically to go-to music maker for ceremonies – he’s created multiple albums that are meant to accompany intense psychedelic journeys, kind of electronic, ambient, chill-out stuff that is so easy to listen to. He has a number of meditations, which combine his soothing voice with custom soundscapes, with titles like “Eternal Internal Flame” and “Sing Me Awake” but my favourite is this Meditation for Chaotic Times, a 15-minute vibey track that can bliss you out and bring you back to yourself, whether things are chaotic or not.

four minutes to focus

For me, breath-based meditations are the fastest way to change your mental and emotional state. This one is perfect for first thing in the morning before you start your task list, or whenever you need a quick brain break.

This no-bullshit breathwork track will give you the energy and dopamine rush to take on a big task. She doesn’t introduce the style of breath, but I like to go in through the nose, out through the mouth, placing my hand on my belly to make sure I’m breathing all the way down to the bottom of my lungs. Pro tip: instead of breathing upwards into the brain, visualize the breath going backwards to the back of your head – you’ll get bigger breaths that way, further oxygenating your system in a nice way.

Kirsty Lyon’s Insight Timer channel also features an extensive library of short breathwork tracks, if this is your preferred style of meditation.
